Easter and Christmas Food Vouchers

Each year the Rotary Club of Adelaide purchase food vouchers for distribution to some older and needy people in the CBD.

Years ago we would be provided with the names and addresses of these people, and our members would personally deliver vouchers and also provide some positive support for those in need.  Today, we put each voucher in an envelope that recognises it has been provided by Rotary Club of Adelaide.

Due to privacy provisions the personal method of distribution was discontinued in 2010, so now we  provide pre Christmas vouchers to the Adelaide Day Centre for them to distributes to their clients. Similarly we distribute pre Easter vouchers via the same centre.

The Adelaide Day Centre in Moore Street is a place of refuge for homeless men. It was set up by Sister Janet Mead in 1985. The Adelaide day centre is a non profit  organisation. The aim of this organisation is to bring people together who have limited material possessions.
